Logo creation for Pizza and Mexican Takeaway
The final default version of the logo
This was a completely different style of branding and creating a logo and art style around a more fun and childish idea was new to me but helped demonstrate how my skills can be used in many different business ideas and products. I had been given the tagline of “Pizza & Mexican” having to be incorporated, and as such began research into other pizzerias, Mexican restaurants, and specifically of fast food chains.

Inspired to make the logo both colourful but also adaptable to have a full black and white version for certain situations lead me to make 22 different versions incorporating different elements. I then sat down with the business owner as he then chose his favourites, I then broke down each logo asking him in particular what parts were his favourite to then incorporate into the final design. The final result was one I was very happy with and where it can easily be made smaller and more condensed if required.

This final logo was loved by the business owner and his wife, the fact he got to choose the elements he liked such as pizza at the bottom as the chilli as the ‘L’ apposed to other options I gave made it really feel like his own.

Red was chosen as the primary colour with green and then pale ‘cheese’ yellow as supporting accents. This colours scheme was also adopted in all other elements of his branding from roadside banners and the menu which I designed, as well as the website developed by Virtual Tailor. The same goes for the sub header font of the logo which we used for all headers on the website and on the menu too.

The chilli pepper was also adopted into the branding further, appearing on the website as a fun icon, and on the menu to represent spicy items. I believed this was an important symbol to be represented as the restaurant prior had be called 'Spicey' and as such this could be fresh and new while incorporation the old for the local customers, especially with many of the menu items staying the same.

I helped create the print menu, demonstrating the transferable skills I have in web into print medium. This involved a lot of multi-managing and planning to fit all the items onto each page, and into the correct categories especially with how many menu items they had in total.

Overall this project was a success, it demonstrates my abilities in creating a brand, and working both in and outside my comport zone of technology businesses. Helping to create consistency in the logo, websites and even print media for to very different companies.

All work was contracted to me through Virtual Tailor. All images belong to their respective owners. Thanks again for reading.
